Conditions of Registered Nominations
Upon entering the Stonka Fishing Challenge event venue location, you understand and agree to the following:
-The STONKA Fishing Challenge Inc. reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions if this Competition cannot be run as originally planned. The STONKA Fishing Challenge Inc. may also cancel or suspend this Competition if an event beyond their control corrupts or affects the administration security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Competition including uncontrollable weather events;
– You acknowledge that the Challenge task(s) You choose to undertake may be dangerous and may result in Your injury or death or damage to or loss of Your personal property and You fully and willingly accept and assume all risks that may arise out of or result from Your participation in the Challenge;
– All Junior entrants under 18 years of age must have parental permission before entering for the Competition;
– All Entrants must abide by the general fishing rules as per QLD Fisheries guidelines in regards to fishing zones, legal size limits & take home limits Any competitors in breach of these guidelines will be disqualified immediately from the Challenge;
– You authorise for the STONKA Fishing Challenge 2024 Management Committee to use any audio/visual imagery taken of yourself via photography, video content, drone footage and audio recordings for purposes of material produced for education, promotion, marketing or advertising for (including but not limited to) print, media releases, radio, TV, website, social media, graphics, editorials, banners, stickers, shirts, corflutes and/or street signs. Also, unless otherwise stated, there will be no restrictions on the geographical distribution of the material produced;
Conditions of Venue Entry
The Annual STONKA Fishing Challenge 2024 will be held at the Cape Gloucester Resort at Hydeaway Bay, QLD from 9am Thursday 8th to 12pm Sunday 11th August 2024.
Upon entering the STONKA Fishing Challenge event venue location, you understand and agree to the following:
– During the STONKA Fishing Challenge event, Cape Gloucester Resort is a licensed venue and alcohol will be available for purchase and consumption at allocated areas; however no alcohol or glass bottles are permitted to be brought into the event locations during the event, excluding the camping areas for paying campers;
– You acknowledge that some Activities are operated and controlled by Third Parties;
– The event venue location at Cape Gloucester Resort is classed as a Non-Smoking area. Designated areas will be provided and marked for smokers; and
– All Entrants and spectators that enter the event understands that the STONKA Fishing Challenge Incorporated Association accepts no liability for any personal property that is damaged or stolen within the venue and/or that is left at the event venue location. All property that remains in the venue after the final day of the event closure on 12pm Sunday 11th August 2024 will be disposed of or donated to charity.
– You agree to waive, to the extent permitted by law, any right to claim which You, Your insurer or any other person may have or which may arise in the future against The STONKA Fishing Challenge In., its Members, suppliers, contractors, volunteers and insurers in relation to You undertaking the Challenge.
Registration Conditions
Registrations Fees apply for Nominations for The STONKA Fishing Challenge 2024. Each Senior (Adult 16yrs +) registration is equal to one (1) entry into the Major Lucky Door Draw. Each Junior (Child Under 16 yrs) registration is equal to one (1) entry into the Junior Lucky door Prize. Registrations open on 1st April 2024 and close 30th June 2024. No Registration can be accepted after the 30th June 2024. Registration Fees are as follows:

Adults 16+ Plus Bush Camping | $150 Registration Fee per Person |
Adult 16+ Camping Only | $50 (Minimum of one (1) person must be a registered competitor) |
Junior (Under 16 years) | $75 Registration Fee per Person |
Junior (Under 16 years) Camping Only | Free |
All Juniors must be between 2yrs old to 15 years old and must be able to present fish for weigh in for eligibility. (2yrs to 15yrs)
Camping Conditions
Limited bush camping is available to registered competitors only and is subject to availability. This is additional Fees and is not included in the Competitors registration fee.
A Minimum of one (1) person must be a registered Competitor per camp site. All camp sites are non-powered camp sites and minimal facilities are available (Shared Porta-Loo & Resort Showers available).
Small contained fires in camping area only.
BYO Alcohol is permitted within the Bush Camping Areas only.
Prize Conditions
To claim a Prize, Competitors must be present at the time of the prize presentation to claim their prize, otherwise that winner will forfeit the Prize in its entirety.
Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash or other services. All decisions regarding Prize draws are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
Competition Rules to Qualify
The fish categories and competitors Age groups are displayed on the STONKA Fishing Challenge Inc. Website and is subject to change. All Competitors are to review the Eligible Fish Categories and the Competitors age groups that are eligible for those Fish Categories (Senior & Junior entrants).
The King & Queen of the Cape is for Seniors Competitors only (16+Yrs) and must catch x4 different reef fish (from any Reef Fish Seniors Category) + x1 Mackerel – based upon Combine Weight (Seniors Only)
The Prince & Princess of the Cape is for Junior Competitors only (2-15Yrs) and must catch x2 different fish from any Juniors categories (Juniors Only) based upon Combined weight (Junior Only)
The Combine Team Weight is a Maximum of 4 People to a Team and must present x4 different fish from either category based upon Combine Weight (Seniors only)
The Mud Crab Category is the Largest weighed Mud Crab for both Seniors & Juniors Competitors based upon x1 Entry per contestant.
Other Competition rules to Qualify are:
– Line Fishing Only
– All Fishing must adhere to the QLD Fisheries Guidelines
– All Fish entries must be presented with Competitors Registration Number provided by the STONKA Fishing Challenge Inc.
